  • The Calmness - Standing on the rocky shore as the sun was setting was a very surreal and calming experience. This image exemplifies that serene time and has a calming effect to gaze upon and make you contemplate time and reality.
    The Calmness
  • This scene struck me as an analogy for the hope and strength of the beacon that is standing strong in the might flowing river. It was a perfect scene, fast flowing water, magnificent light and body clouds, after a fresh dusting of snow....perfect!

  • Antarctica is unlike any other place on Earth. The size of the place, the scale, the extremes, defy all logic. In this image, taken in Yankee Harbour on the Antarctic Peninsula, you can see 80 000 penguins. The dark area at the base of the mountain on the left is a massive Gentoo Penguin colony. The smell and sound was overwhelming, but thats what Antarctica does to you, it overwhelms every sense you have and leaves you feeling very blessed for having visited there.

  • Neko Harbour is a deeply beautiful cove on the Antarctic Peninsula. The area is hemmed in by tall mountains and to the right in this image is a massive glacier. Once again, the scale of things in Antarctica is beyond compare. The small vessel you see in the bay is our ship, dwarfed by the surrounding mountains and headlands. We hiked up the ridge to the point where I made this image. I stood there for a long time after I had photographed, just soaking in one of the most magnificent landscapes I had ever seen.
