Yankee Harbour - Antarctic Peninsula

Antarctica is unlike any other place on Earth. The size of the place, the scale and the extremes, defy all logic. In this image, taken in Yankee Harbour on the Antarctic Peninsula, you can see 80 000 penguins. The dark area at the base of the mountain on the left is a massive Gentoo Penguin colony. The smell and sound was overwhelming, but thats what Antarctica does to you, it overwhelms every sense you have and leaves you feeling very blessed for having visited there.
