The trees and rocks in the distance are lying on a sandbar that juts out into the sea. On this evening, I set myself up on a rocky outcrop that allowed me to capture the sea as it rushed into the bay and have the trees and rocks in the distance. The colours of the last rays of sun were simply breathtaking and the water rushing in under the rocks I was standing on was powerful. I spent a few hours on that rocky outcrop and once the light had faded and turned to an inky darkness, I packed up to leave. Only then did I realise that the tide had come in and I was pretty much on a rocky, slippery island, in the dark, surrounded by a churning sea. It took me well over half an hour of clambering and climbing, over wet and slippery rocks to get back to the beach. It was worth it though, when I saw this result, I realised that it was well worth it.
