The Atacama Desert in Northern Chile is a sublime place. It is the driest place on earth and there is literally little to no life there. Even birds avoid flying over it as they cannot come down for water, so they avoid it. This scene was taken after hiking up one of the huge dunes in the moon valley. The road you see in the foreground (left) takes travellers deep into the desert. The scene is unlike any other I have seen before.
