About Barry...

I have been a fulltime photographer since 2008. In this time, I have been fortunate to have won numerous awards, most recently winning a silver award in the Professional Fuji Film awards for South Africa in the Scenic or Landscape category. I have also done photography assignments and projects for some well known corporate companies in South Africa and some international brands. 

I specialise in Commercial Photography and Fine Art Landscape Photography. On the commercial side, I have done numerous assignments for hotels, venues and other big brand companies. I have photographed the interiors and exteriors of 5 star hotels and exclusive venues for use in their marketing materials such as websites, brochures and newspaper adverts. I have also photographed many different products such as sunglasses, food and drink and other small products for well known companies. 

I really enjoy teaching people how to get better results from their camera and their image editing. I have lectured at the College of Digital Photography on Photoshop and advanced Photoshop techniques as well as on photography. The college is the foremost digital photography college in South Africa and has grown many aspiring amateur photographers into fulltime photographers, myself included. I am also a contributor to Getty Images. Getty Images is a leading provider of digital media worldwide, creating and distributing a range of assets – from royalty-free stock photography and editorial images to footage, music and multimedia – that help communicators around the globe tell their stories. 

Another area of photographic speciality is Fine Art Landscape Photography and it is here that I am able to truly express myself. I take time out to go and capture the beauty in the natural world and capture the essence of places that I am fortunate to visit. Many of my favourite images from those places are available to purchase as large Fine Art Prints which can be displayed in your home or place of work...or could be given as a gift to someone.

In December 2009, my wife and I started a 9 month trip through South America which took us to Argentina, Antarctica, Chile and Peru. We saw amazing, once in a lifetime sites such as The Atacama Desert, Salinas Grandes Salt Flats, Perito Moreno Glacier in El Calafate, the Inca city of Machu Picchu in Peru and we were fortunate to visit the last eden and experience the beauty and silence that is Antarctica. Many images from this journey are available for purchase on this site too. 

In early 2011 I summitted Mt Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa and one of the Seven Summits of the world. I love travelling and soon I will be offering some photographic tours to some of the wonderful places I have visited. Take a look below the pic to see my client references...
